The new 16X DVD-R media packs are write-once, single-sided discs. Consumers can now record a full two hours of video in approximately 6 minutes – making Memorex 16X DVD media the fastest way to save movies, music, images and data on DVD discs. Recording times of up to 480 minutes of video can be available depending on the recorder.
The new 16X media is backward compatible with respective 12X, 8X and 4X drives. 2X DVD-R drives may need a firmware upgrade to record 16X DVD-R, which can be downloaded at http://www.dvdhs.com/. With larger storage capacities on DVD media, users can store at least 6.5 times more than on a CD-R/RW. DVD media allows the preservation of favourite videos, precious photos, valuable data and an entire music library.
